Our Story

In Honor of Angelo Akok

Angelo Akok

Angelo Legacy is named in honor of Angelo Akok, Achiel Angelo’s grandfather. He was a teacher, father, and respected community leader. Following his cancer diagnosis, his family cared for him at home for as long as they could. He later moved into a nursing home, where he passed away in 2006.

During her visits, Achiel witnessed concerns about the care and personal attention her grandfather received. That experience stayed with her and inspired a commitment to creating a better experience for older adults and their families.

Angelo Legacy is being created to honor his memory. The vision is a community where each resident’s history, preferences, and dignity guide their care, where families feel welcome, and where older adults can live with comfort, connection, and respect.
